Privacy Policy

Scrivara (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a worldbuilding and manuscript writing tool operated by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Who we are

Scrivara is currently available by invitation only to residents of the United States. Our service is hosted at scrivara.app.

2. What information we collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address and password (used to create and access your account)
  • Display name and profile information (name, bio, avatar, social links)
  • All content you create within Scrivara, including wiki entries, manuscript text, plot notes, and world data
  • Communications you send us

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic usage data collected by Vercel (our hosting provider) including IP address, browser type, and pages visited
  • Session cookies set by Supabase (our database provider) to keep you logged in

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not sell your data. We do not use your content to train AI models.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Scrivara service
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • Enable collaboration features when you invite other users to your world
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Send essential service communications (account changes, security alerts)

4. How we store your data

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2 compliant database provider. Your manuscripts and wiki content are stored in a private database accessible only to you and users you explicitly invite. Uploaded images are stored in private Supabase storage buckets with access controls.

Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are hashed and managed by Supabase Auth.

5. Who we share your data with

We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the service:

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — hosting and content delivery

We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Export your wiki content using the Export feature within the app

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at scrivarateam@gmail.com

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and content will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Children's privacy

Scrivara is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Geographic restrictions

Scrivara is currently available to residents of the United States only. By creating an account, you confirm that you are a US resident. We reserve the right to terminate accounts of users found to be outside the United States during this early access period.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice within the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
